Jeremiah continues by saying “we must buy the water we drink” and we get our bread at the risk of our lives”. That is pretty much unimagineable to us since we take those things for granted. They are under very heavy oppression and Jeremiah says that the joy is gone from the land. “You, O LORD, reign forever”. Jeremiah ends the chapter and the book by asking God to restore His people. Jeremiah acknowledged the sin of everyone and prayed to God about it. This is a great example of Phillipians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Jeremiah is a great example to Christians.
