Jeremiah immediately begins to say that those who once were wealthy in Judah are now “ on ash heaps” and “destitute in the streets”. Jeremiah talks about how God has poured out His rath on Judah. Jeremiah acknowledges that this happened because the people had sinned against God. Jeremiah ends this chapter by saying that the daughter of Zion’s punishment will end but the people who live in the land of Uz will later be punished. (“The cup will be passed…”)
